Integral Fitness & Leisure Code of Conduct

1. Introduction and Purpose

This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected from all members, visitors and guests while on the premises of any Integral Fitness & Leisure club.

Our primary goal is to provide a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for everyone, including our members, guests and dedicated staff.

Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in immediate action, up to and including the permanent termination of membership.

2. Respect for Staff and Personnel

Integral Fitness & Leisure is committed to providing a professional and welcoming experience. Our staff are here to assist you, ensure your safety and maintain our facilities.

All members, visitors and guests are required to treat our employees with respect and courtesy at all times.

Integral Fitness & Leisure operates a zero-tolerance policy regarding abuse of staff. Any abuse directed towards a staff member, as outlined in this policy, may result in the immediate and permanent termination of membership without a refund.

Unacceptable Conduct Towards Staff Includes:

Verbal Abuse and Harassment:
Using aggressive, offensive, profane or insulting language, comments or gestures towards any staff member.

Intimidation or Threats:
Engaging in behaviour that causes a staff member to feel physically or psychologically unsafe, including threats, bullying, intimidation or aggressive posturing.

Unwanted Physical Contact or Assault:
Any form of unwanted physical contact, including touching, pushing or physical assault, is strictly prohibited and may be reported to An Garda Síochána.

Disruption of Duties:
Intentionally interfering with a staff member’s ability to perform their duties, including refusing to follow reasonable instructions relating to health and safety, facility rules or the use of equipment.

Inappropriate Personal Demands:
Harassing staff for personal or private information or making excessive, unreasonable or inappropriate personal demands.

Discrimination:
Making discriminatory remarks or engaging in discriminatory behaviour based on a staff member’s gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, disability or any other characteristic protected by law.

3. Filming, Photography and Recording on the Premises

To protect the privacy, safety and comfort of everyone using our facilities, filming, photography or audio recording of any person, including staff and other members, is strictly prohibited on Integral Fitness & Leisure premises without the prior, explicit and written consent of club management.

Specific Rules

Unauthorised Filming and Photography:
The unauthorised use of mobile phones, cameras, wearable devices or any other recording equipment is prohibited.

Swimming Pools and Wet Areas:
Mobile phones and all recording devices are strictly prohibited on swimming pool decks, in or around Jacuzzis and in other designated wet areas.

This rule is enforced to protect members’ privacy, prevent distractions for lifeguards and safeguard individuals wearing swimming attire.

Recording Yourself:
Members may record or photograph themselves for training purposes only, provided that:

  • No other member or staff member is visible or audible in the recording.
  • The recording does not obstruct equipment, walkways or the movement of other members.
  • The member immediately stops recording when asked to do so by a staff member.

Restricted Areas:
Filming, photography and audio recording are strictly prohibited in changing rooms, washrooms, toilets, saunas, steam rooms and private treatment areas.

Violations:
Any breach of this policy may result in a request to immediately stop recording and delete the relevant content. Further action may include the suspension or permanent termination of membership.

4. General Standards of Behaviour

In addition to the requirements outlined above, all members must comply with the following standards:

Respect for Staff and Other Members

Treat all staff members, members, visitors and guests with courtesy and respect. Unsolicited, intrusive or inappropriate comments are not acceptable.

Equipment Etiquette

  • Wipe down equipment after use using the sanitising materials provided.
  • Return all weights, bars and accessories to their designated storage areas.
  • Observe any time limits placed on cardiovascular equipment during peak periods.
  • Do not misuse, damage or monopolise equipment.
  • Follow all reasonable instructions provided by staff regarding the safe use of equipment.

Dress Code

Appropriate, clean and modest gym clothing and footwear must be worn in all fitness areas.

Communication

Use appropriate language and avoid shouting, excessive noise or loud conversations that may disturb others.

Personal Hygiene

Members must maintain an appropriate standard of personal hygiene when using club facilities.

5. Social Media Harassment and Online Conduct

This policy also applies to members’ online conduct where that conduct affects Integral Fitness & Leisure, its staff or its members.

Zero Tolerance for Online Abuse:
Members must not use social media platforms, online forums, messaging services or review websites to harass, defame, bully, threaten or intimidate Integral Fitness & Leisure staff or other members.

Privacy of Staff:
Posting photographs or videos of staff members online with the intention of harassing, ridiculing or sharing personal or private information is a serious breach of this Code of Conduct. This applies even where the photograph or video was taken outside the club.

Inappropriate Personal Demands:
Members must not harass staff online for personal or private information or make excessive, unreasonable or inappropriate personal demands.

Misrepresentation:
Members must not create social media accounts, posts or profiles that falsely represent them as an employee, agent or representative of Integral Fitness & Leisure.

Threats and Hate Speech:
Using online channels to issue threats or promote hatred against Integral Fitness & Leisure, its staff or its members is strictly prohibited.

Consequences:
Online content or conduct that constitutes harassment or otherwise breaches this Code of Conduct may result in the same disciplinary action as conduct occurring on club premises.

6. Enforcement and Consequences

Any suspected breach of this Code of Conduct will be reviewed by Integral Fitness & Leisure management.

Consequences may include, but are not limited to:

  • A formal verbal warning.
  • A written warning placed on the member’s file.
  • Temporary suspension of membership privileges.
  • A requirement to leave the premises.
  • Reporting the matter to An Garda Síochána where appropriate.
  • Immediate and permanent termination of membership without a refund.

Integral Fitness & Leisure reserves the right to take any action it considers reasonable and proportionate to protect the safety, privacy and wellbeing of its members, visitors, guests and staff.
